Government Polytechnic Doyang Wokha Jal Shakti Abhiyan

On August 7, 2024, a seminar and painting event focused on water conservation was held at the conference hall as part of the Jal Doot campaign under the Jal Shakti Abhiyan initiative. The Jal Doot concept, introduced within this framework, designates volunteers as “Water Messengers” who serve as grassroots ambassadors for water conservation, aiming to foster behavioural changes and promote sustainable water practices at the village or community level. Ar. Katila Jamir emphasized the significance of this seminar. Five students participated as Jal Doots, delivering presentations on various related topics:

  1. Thingpio C.P Khiamniungan (1st Semester): “Rain water harvesting”
  2. Kezevizo Rote (3rd Semester): “How can we Conserve water”
  3. Jokholu Nienu (5th Semester): “Ways to conserve water for a sustainable living”
  4. Longtichem (5th Semester): “Benefits of water conservation”
  5. Renchamo Yanthan (5th Semester): “Water footprints”

Eight students engaged in a painting initiative focused on the theme of Water Conservation. The resulting artworks are presented below.

 

                                            Miss. I. Tainjungla Ozukum acted as the Moderator for the Seminar, facilitating the Seminar’s proceedings effectively.
